Real Ones

another’s ink…

“… it is the sweet,

simple things of life

which are the

real ones

after all.”

Laura Ingalls Wilder

my ink…

she may be
stumbling
tumbling
uprooted

or

standing
frozen
in-place

with

barbs out
heart tucked in

trying desperately to protect herself
by hiding from assaults — and unknowingly from love

but
always
always

may she be
found

reaching up
looking up

and

kneeling
down
