Hoist it Off

Listening When He Speaks, Love God Love People

.

That spot, right there between praise and despair, indeed is a place of hot friction. God tells us one thing. Our hearts, minds, and guts tell us another.

.

The enemy rubs hard

against the God of my salvation; rough burs catch

and snag, threaten

to make powder of my trust, grind

my security (in His glory) to

dust.

.

But shine His

Light we

must! On bended

knees, hands all clasped

in prayer; or even a hug

given to one in need

of grace,

love.

.

My feelings about God are not altered, swayed, changed by events. But, I admit, sheepishly, humbly, that there are times when I have to remind myself of this.

.scg-statue pray

But I know God. I may be shaken a bit, but I’m not rent in two, nor have I fallen off the narrow-gated path. In addition, He says to praise Him at all times. (please see Psalm 96 & Habakkuk 3:17-19 for assurance of what I just said)

.

His righteousness…

will endure not only the test

of time, it will! but

that blasted evil

threatens to bring

hearts,

(yours & mine)

to ruin

.

so please,

let’s leave the

enemy’s plight in

the rubble.

We stand up, we stand tall, we point fingers ’cause we want some thing to take the blame of it all. Remember our man Adam? He did it to Eve.

(Genesis 3:12)

Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.”

.

I wanna stand on a rooftop and shout People, who are ruled by evil, are the ones who do the devil’s deeds as they devour innocence! Ask Eve, the momma of two famous sons. Do you think she ever ate fruit again, after what her one boy did to the other? Surely it burned ribbons of fire straight from tongue to heart. I bet that woman never tasted sweet again. How could she, after she’d been party to the introduction of evil to the world?

(Genesis 3:13)

And the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”

The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

.

But praise God, that there despicable act of disobedience in the garden, or the first desolate death where Cain killed Abel, neither was the finale. No, nope, no sir, that’s certainly not the end of the story, because even though bad runneth amuck here, right here on earth, it does not do the same in the hearts of Believers

.

Remember how we’re joined? To Christ? To one another?

.

Even though folks disagree on gun rights, shall that too, divide us as we march forward with our co-eternal heritage rights? Shouldn’t we treat one another with respect — even if our Second Amendment opinions/values differ? Sure, I have a stance on this matter. If you know me at all, you know I’m a daughter of the King of kings first and a red-white-n-blue through and through patriotic American second.

.

Ah-ha! A princess patriot I am!

.

And you can bet your flannel bloomers that I’ll talk more on this subject, but for now, this:

.

Surely the enemy is rejoicing over the division between those who value Second Amendment rights and those who don’t, especially when that division is among Believers. And why wouldn’t that nasty dude find this a favorable state of affairs? Well, I reckon it’s because he’s got a good ‘nuf seat pretty far from center court in the blame game.

.

Lord God, please have mercy on Your people. Where confusion muddies, lay clear thoughts. Where differences clash, let it be overcome by brotherly kindness. Where anger rules, remedy it with love. Where fear reigns, hoist it off with Truth. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Darlene, I work at an elementary school and the day of the news about Newtown left us all in shock. Numb. There were just no words. And it occurred to me that when you know Jesus, the way to defeat the enemy is to REFUSE TO BE NUMB……..continue believe the truth. So, preach it, sister. This was wonderful.

If you have somethin' to say, I reckon this is where you should do it. (If you're a newbie hereabouts, your first comment will be held for approval - cuts down on spam.) Thank ye for chatting!
