Heart of Courage

living, Love God, Photo Story, Scripture Talk

Courage isn’t made of humanness.

No. Nope. It sure as shootin’ isn’t.

I mean really, how could it be? We humans are fallen. Wretched. Full o’ sin. And covered in all manner of yucky stuff. We are selfish and self-centered. Even if we are strong in body, we are weak in spirit. And I reckon a more than a few of us are egotistical. Hey girlie, what about that bit, being all weak in spirit? Yep, we are; rather, we were… until we met the Lord of lords, the King of kings, the Man above all men and asked Him to guide us along life’s way and gave Him our hearts of jelly.

Then, and only then; now and only now, do we have the mere capacity for hearts of courage.

King James Version Bible Page defines courage thusly:

COURAGE, n. L., the heart. Bravery; intrepidity; that quality of mind which enables men to encounter danger and difficulties with firmness, or without fear or depression of spirits; valor; boldness; resolution.

It is a constituent part of fortitude; but fortitude implies patience to bear continued suffering.

Courage that grows from constitution, often forsakes a man when he has occasion for it; courage which arises from a sense of duty, acts in a uniform manner.

COURAGEOUS, a. Brave; bold; daring; intrepid; hardy to encounter difficulties and dangers; adventurous; enterprising.

COURAGEOUSLY, adv. With courage; bravely; boldly; stoutly.

Like I said before, once we are His, we have the capacity to possess a heart of courage. To start off, you gotta ask God to turn your heart of jelly into one of courage. Shortly thereafter I reckon you better ask for the proper armor to encase that newfangled heart.

Ain’t  nobody can make you courageous. That is between you and God.

“If you go amongst the Philistines, it’s best to go armed.”

armor of God.

Now then, what are ya gonna do with it all?

As for me…

Stand tall.

Act in Love.

Speak Truth.

Shine His light.

Walk in the Spirit.

Lean on the good Lord above.

Protect those who cannot protect themselves.
