Slay the Night

country life, For Fun, photography, poetry - haiku

It’s dark at 4:15am when I saunter into the kitchen. It’s still dark at 5am when my husband rumbles down the gravel toward work. And even though this fantastical view is literally a stone’s throw out my living room door, I only see it after God and I slay the dark.

Well, actually, He does most of the work; I just read His Word, and when I’m done with that, I stir, stare, sip, and occasionally gulp — both Truth and view.

Some folks snore the night away and dream undercover, in darkness. Others ride sunshine strokes across the sky and dream in broad daylight. Me? I dream my very best at that pivot point between the two — that place where my eyes are open only to the outrageous blessings of another day.

coffeeMistSD2What about you?

How, when, and where do you dream best?

  1. Love this post and the photo, too! I am not as much a morning person, but more of a night owl. But a quiet place to sit, think and pray almost always sets me on a course for dreamin’. 🙂

If you have somethin' to say, I reckon this is where you should do it. (If you're a newbie hereabouts, your first comment will be held for approval - cuts down on spam.) Thank ye for chatting!
