Regarding Cinderella stories – yet the characters, setting and plot may vary, the theme remains constant.

Poor girl is mistreated and unappreciated. She suffered loss. Hope is kindled through invitation. A helpful guide or magical creature appears. Poor girl overcomes and turns beautiful (which she has been all along), and is bestowed with attention or riches.

(Barkat, L.L. The Novelist. New York: T.S. Poetry Press, 2012)

“Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 3:16-18 NKJV)
