A number of tech sectors are converging to create more technically based goods and services such as electronics and software, medical and health care, networking, personal digital assistants, and multimedia. The emerging field of internet and digital technologies also creates new tech sectors related to web design, engineering and software, digital, wireless communications, computer network security, eCommerce, and software development.

The rapid growth of this technology sector has also created numerous opportunities for career advancement, especially in information technology. As organizations move toward incorporating more technology into their business, the need for qualified and trained workers will grow. The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that the number of jobs requiring IT training will increase at a faster rate than any other area over the next decade. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, jobs requiring computer and internet technology will account for 20 percent of all job openings for those working in Information Technology in the United States in 2021. Because of these and other factors, the future of the tech sector looks very bright indeed.
